The DFW Hyatt: A Sneak Peek

By Andrea Plotner, PWOCI Communications

Wow.  Wow.  And wow!
You are in for a treat at International Conference!

Gracious Hospitality

The International Board just finished meeting at the DFW Hyatt, and I have never experienced more hospitable lodging.  The staff must have taken some pointers from Disney, because a “Be Our Guest” attitude was on the smiling, helpful face of every employee in the hotel.

Convenience

And what a hotel - a “Four Diamond” facility right in the airport complex.  When I got off of my airplane, I simply walked down one flight for luggage, and then another flight to ground transportation.  I picked up a little phone to dial the hotel, and ten minutes later the shuttle dropped me off in the lobby, where smiling faces awaited me.  While checking in, I was shown a computer screen where I could print off my airline boarding passes 24 hours in advance of my flight, making my trip home a breeze!

Great Food

Okay, so four days without having to cook or clean should be enough, but most of us come hoping for some good eats.  You won’t be disappointed!  Breakfast is continental (i.e. bring your own protein), but bagels the first day came with six different gourmet spreads (totally yummy) and Starbucks coffee (also available for purchase in the lobby, along with Coke products as the hotel serves Pepsi).  Lunches and dinners were generous, and desserts were decadent.  If you want food or fellowship between meals, I recommend the Chicken Chipotle Nachos ($15 at the grille) which was more than 3 of us could split!

Lots of Extras

If you like to work out and burn off any late night chocolate you might consume, there are several options.  There’s a gym with assorted treadmills, free weights, and TVs (earphones provided).  There is also a heated, outdoor swimming pool, and an outdoor track on top of the parking garage.  If you’re a techie, you can access the internet for free in some of the public areas, or pay $9.95 per day for consistent coverage in your room.

Renewal

Your International Conference team has been hard at work planning an amazingly memorable time for you to join with other women “At the Redeemer’s Feet.”  The upscale, modern hotel made my time feel like a real getaway, and my time with faithful friends left me feeling refreshed and refocused.  I pray the same for you and look forward to seeing you in November!
