President's Message

Claudia DuffI greet you all in the name of Jesus Christ! The Messiah, Our crucified Savior, Our Risen Lord and our soon coming King! I pray that the Lord has shown HIMSELF nothing but, faithful to you.

We are once again entering into our favorite season within the military... it is time to MOVE! Many of you are experiencing the end of a deployment and the start of a PCS. Some of you are going to exotic places like, Ft. Leavenworth, Wright/Pat A.F.B., and Rhode Island and let’s not leave out Detroit! You guys are on the move!

During this busy season of packing and unpacking let us not lose our focus...JESUS. Jesus has great plans for you and HE has already begun to put them into action. We, the Northeast Region Board, are working hard on your behalf to prepare a place for you once you arrive in our region. But, know that God is preparing for you as well. We must remember above all else we are Christians first! As I was pondering all that is going on in my small world I began to realize that time is drawing close and we must be prepared to meet with our King.

Ladies, The King is coming and HE is coming just for you. How delightful is that. Following is a devotion that I wrote and shared with the ladies in attendance at Vision Week.

SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME.
SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME?
SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME!

“Then I saw Heaven open wide-and oh! A white horse and its Rider... His eyes are a blaze of fire, on his head many crowns. He has a Name inscribed that’s known only to him. He is dressed in a robe soaked with blood, and he is addressed as “Word of God.” ...A sharp sword comes out of his mouth ... On his robe and thigh is written, KING OF KNGS, LORD OF LORDS.” Revelation 19:11-16 (The Message)

Every time I read these verses my heart pumps a little faster, my blood starts surging and I get just downright giddy! My Jesus is coming! And HE is coming just for me! I also find myself daily living as if HE is not coming. I am guilty of sleepwalking through my days. My focus being that everyone in my home wears clean clothes, eat at least twice a day and my kids receive some type of education daily. I seldom pause to remember that MY PRINCE IS COMING! In my mind I know that I have a Savior but, how often do I allow my actions to bear the fruit of that knowledge? I began to ponder how different my days would be if I were to dwell on the Truth of God’s Word. How different I would become when the power of God’s Word began to penetrate my daily living. Ultimately how different those around me would be impacted when my faith met up with Holy Ghost power and began to manifest in my life. I believe my “problems” would not intimidate me but, inspire me to ask God, believe God then wait on God to deliver. And when deliverance comes I would accept God’s plan instead of my own. When asked to do what I believe is impossible I would believe what God says about impossible – He says, “All things are possible to those who believe!” When faced with sadness or sorrow I would choose the gift that only God can give, “we grieve but, not like those who have no hope!” When bombarded with uncertainty I would choose God again and the peace only HE can give, the kind that passes all understanding. My life would change if I began to live like MY PRINCE WAS COMING. The cares of this life would not gain a stronghold within my heart because it would be so in love with my PRINCE.

SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME.

I believe Jesus is coming but, it won’t be anytime soon and I probably will not live to see it ...people have been saying that for years!

What Prince? What we talking about? I have no idea what this talk is all about.

SOMEDAY MY PRINCE WILL COME!

Yeah Baby! Bring it!

COME LORD JESUS COME!

When I embrace each new day with this attitude I will live differently. Everyone I meet will become important to me. I will wonder if the lady ahead of me in the Commissary knows my Jesus. I will pray fervently for opportunities to share the Gospel of Christ. It will become important to me to minister to as many people the Lord places in my path. My life will take on the purpose of Christ and not just my own. I will live a life that draws me closer to the Kingdom of God. Those around me will be impacted and I will be changed...forever.

Eternity begins today and never ends. Remember to take some time and pause, reflect, and remember that you are saved not just for yourself but, for the Kingdom of God!

As women our days are often filled with what we pour into our family, friends, ministry, jobs, responsibilities, obligations and/or commitments. At times we reach the end of our day wondering what we did all day. While some of us have read the Bible at least once, others of us have not.  Maybe we’ve started only to become overwhelmed by the sheer volume of pages, chapters, names, places and events. But, reading through the Bible is not an impossible goal, and yes, you can do it. This two year plan can help you by dividing the Bible into two 365 daily readings.

Tips to Help You

  1. Start today!
  2. Set aside a specific time each day. Pick a time that works for you and stick to it.
  3. Read to learn not just to read.
  4. Begin with prayer. Ask for wisdom and understanding.
  5. Keep a notebook nearby to write questions, thoughts, and ah ha’s.
Print your reading plan, keep it in your Bible, and mark off each reading as you complete it. This will help you track your progress and keep you on track if you read ahead or miss a day.

BENEDICTION
From the Northeast Region 2007-2009 Titus II's

Audrey Bigelow:
To our Dear PWOC Sisters,
My fellow Titus II sisters and I long to encourage each of you in person, but barring that, we want to spur you on with God’s promises in our final “Words of Wisdom”! This is my most favorite “sending-forth-to-serve” prayer, Ephesians 3: 16-21:

I pray that out of His glorious riches He may strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.

Judy Rossi:
When I think of a Christian's day-to-day life and activity, there is no comparing it to another Christian's. In His sovereignty, God divinely ordains each of our paths--some much tougher than others'--for the purposes of "conforming us into the image of His Son." To some this may not make sense, or even seem cruel, but God promised in Romans 8:28-29 that "we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers."

Everything that happens in our lives matters to God, and He won't waste any of it if we trust Him, whether it's in the daily drudgeries or in a painful turn of events. When I can't seem to make sense of what's happening in my life, I know I must stay focused on the "bottom line"--glorifying God no matter what comes my way. That said, the Scripture that keeps me focused on that goal, (which is God's goal for every Christian) is 2 Peter 1:3. It encourages that "His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness."

By His divine power I have whatever I need to face the tough stuff of life and can do so with godliness, which means in a manner that glorifies God. Embracing this truth gives me the strength to trust God through a tough circumstance, not only because He will work it for good, but because he will conform me just a little more into the likeness of His Son. And when I understand this, I am able to stop fighting what He's leading me through; I can stop whining about it; I can stop feeling victimized by it.

God's divine purpose is in every Christian's life, and no two lives will ever look the same, because each will require something different to conform him or her into the image of Jesus. That's how precious we are to Him. May you embrace this powerful reality as you walk with your Savior.

Sandy Troutman:

“And I said to the nobles, the officials, and the rest of the people, ‘The work is great and extensive, and we are separated on the wall far from one another. At whatever place you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there, Our God will fight for us,’” (Nehemiah 4:19, 20)

I love this part of the story of the wall being rebuilt around Jerusalem. People were working very hard to build back what the enemy had destroyed. On top of the hard work, new enemies had begun to attack the workers. Finally, Nehemiah comes up with a plan. “Rally to the place where you hear the cry of the trumpet and fight with us... because God will fight for us.”

As a PWOC body and in this Region we are often separated from one another. Many of us are far flung from family and even dear friends. The enemy continues to attack and is determined to keep us from building one another up or from building protective walls of ministry and places of worship. However, we are not alone. God calls us to “serve one another in love,” to “encourage one another” each day, and to “stimulate one another to love and good deeds.”

His promise is this: that when we rally to one another, God will fight for us! Do not forget to cry out when you are under attack, and do not forget to rally around those who are being attacked. Above all, remember that as we fight side by side, “God will fight for us.”

His word says that victory will prevail because “the battle belongs to the Lord.”
