Letter from the President (May 2010)

Aloha from the Pacific Region PWOC!

If you are reading this, then chances are you are planning a PCS to our balmy ocean breezes in the near future. You may already be here! May I be the first to say Aloha and Welcome! We canâ•˙t wait to greet you in person! I personally LOVE this region. I have been blessed to be stationed here for over two years now and I have loved every minute of it. It is truly paradise!

A PCS move can be a little frightening, especially if this is your first overseas move! Even if you are old-hat at this PCS thing, it can STILL be unnerving! Rest assured, God has His plans for you! I want you to know that God is not calling only your husband to our region. He is calling you as well! Jeremiah 29:11 is so appropriate. For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (NIV) God is calling you, dear sister, to our beautiful region!

We are a tiny region, but we are mighty in the Lord! We have 5 fantastic installations filled with wonderful women of God! They are ready to greet you and help you find a new home. I pray that you will take the time to contact a local president or a regional board member, so we will know you are here and give you a warm welcome in an unfamiliar land. All five of our installations are listed under the Installation Locator.

I would love to hear from you myself. I pray that you will blessed by the time you spend in our region. I look forward to hearing from you!

May you grow in the grace and knowledge our Lord and Savior - Jesus Christ!

Kelly Phillips,
Pacific Region President

Regional News

Coming this Fall, PWOC's 8th Region - Asia!

As of the Fall Pacific Region Conference, Japan and Korea will split from the Pacific Region and form the new Asia Region. Hawaii and Guam will make up the Pacific Region.

What does this mean? For those in the newly created Asia Region, you'll have your own Regional Board, your own Regional Chaplain, and your own Regional Homepage on pwoc.org!

Two new Regional Executive Boards will be selected at the 2009 Pacific Region Conference; one for Pacific Region and one for the new Asia Region. Praise God as this is not a division but a multiplication!

Words of Wisdom

The Majesty of His Grace Devotional
by: Rhonda Mixon, Pacific Region Titus II, PWOCI Titus II

Upon my arrival in Hawaii, someone remarked to me, “Hawaii is God’s art palette for Heaven.” The beautiful scenes, colors, and unique sights are sometimes beyond words of description. After four years of living here, I have never tired of the ‘majesty’ of His design and creation. Beautiful scenes of grandeur are before me on a daily basis. One word that keeps resonating in my spirit is the word ‘mercy.’ As I view the beautiful aqua blue ocean moving to and fro along the sandy shoreline, I am reminded of Jeremiah 5:22.

Will you not tremble at My presence, Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it?” (NKJV)

The NIV describes the sand as a ‘boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross.’

As I ponder and meditate upon these words, I’ve come to understand that without God’s mercy, we would not have His truths. Truth comes through His mercy. Consider our God who knows exactly the ‘perpetual decree’ as a boundary of mercy to keep our land safe from the raging waters of the ocean; and He created this to be everlasting. His mercy is everlasting to those who will receive His truths. No matter where you live, consider the ‘Majesty of His Grace’ and the beautiful poetic truth found in Psalm 85:10-11.

Mercy and truth have met together; Righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven.” (NKJV)

Greetings Mighty Women of the Most High God,

Proverbs 3:5-7, an all familiar verse that we all know says...

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your path straight.

  1. Trust God from the bottom of your heart. Put your dependency in God.
  2. Don't try to figure everything on your own. Don't try to be a superwomen.
Take every concern you have to the Lord.
  3. Listen for God's voice. Put God first in every decision. Follow after His peace
     and His goodness.
  4. He is the one that will keep us on track. He will direct our efforts for sucess.
Don't assume that you know it all. Take the pressure off yourself.

    RUN TO GOD!
